In August 2021, within the framework of the Healthy America 2030 initiative, the webinar “Ensuring healthy eating at school in the context of the pandemic” was held.
The pandemic has disrupted the school education of millions of girls, boys and young people. For many, it has disrupted not only their education but also the possibility of healthy and safe food, a basic right for everyone. According to UNICEF, more than 39 million school meals have been lost since the pandemic began. These circumstances allow us to think about strategies that support good nutrition in such a challenging context. As we continue to adapt to living with COVID 19, good practices and successful experiences are being recorded. In the webinar we saw how some cities have handled this issue. The event ended with a Call to Action by the Youth Alliance for Wellbeing and Development.
