What do we do
With the focus on the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, at CLAS we work to promote health policies for tobacco control, promotion of physical activity, healthy eating, control of alcohol consumption and control of air pollution.

Our positions
CLAS facilitates the development of consensual positions with leaders, experts and activists in the region, both from civil society and academics and government representatives. These positions allow for unified action, with common goals.

We are a group of young people from America committed to generating a positive impact on health and development with the objective of promoting well-being through the prevention and control of non-communicable diseases in the region.
Initiatives
Regional Agenda 2030
The members of CLAS and their allies developed a Regional Agenda for NCDs by 2030 with the purpose of setting strategic lines that allow achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN), in particular Goal # 3 “Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.” This objective is also in line with the PAHO Sustainable Health Agenda for the Americas 2018-2030, specifically Objective #9 “Reduce morbidity, disability and mortality from non-communicable diseases, trauma, violence and mental health disorders ”.
